The word ”credit” is actually derived from the Latin word ”credere”, which means “to believe” or “to entrust”.
As you already know our entire economic system is based on credit, or put in other terms… the belief that contracts will be honored, loans will be repaid and the entire system in general will continue functioning as it should. When the belief and trust in the system is broken that’s when major problems occur. (As if you didn’t already know.)
